CFPwinMan: TDS Upload Update

You may already be aware that as of 1st October, 2010, the threshold for Assured Shorthold Tenancies in England is being increased from £25,000 to £100,000. Your preferred Tenancy Deposit Protection scheme provider will already have made their guidance in the matter available to you - probably via their webcfpsite - and CFP Software is happy to inform you that your CFPwinMan software remains compliant.

Currently, if you attempt to register a tenancy where the annual rent is in excess of £25,000pa, our software advises you that the protection may not be applicable. Following 1st October, the system will still produce this warning - however despite this notification, the system you currently have WILL still operate as expected - including uploading tenancy information to TDS, if they are your preferred scheme and you have purchased that module.

Shortly after 1st October, we will be making an update to your software available to adjust the 'trigger point' for the message, raising it to £100,000. You may also be aware that any existing tenancies which started after the commencement of the scheme (5th April, 2007) and which will still be in effect on 1st October will need to be registered. (Please check your scheme provider's guidance for details)

If you feel that you would like some assistance in identifying any of your tenancies this might apply to and you have a current maintenance contract for CFPwinMan, please call the CFP support number on 01209 313121. We will be able to provide you with a report to simplify the process, but unfortunately we will NOT be able to automate the upload of information via the TDS module as we have been advised AGAINST 'bulk uploads' by the scheme provider.

You should update the CFPwinMan records to reflect the fact that the tenancies have been manually registered (including any certificate numbers for those tenancies) so that CFPwinMan will handle renewal / end of tenancy scenarios appropriately.

If you need any help or support regarding this, contact CFP Software's Support Team on 01209 313121.
