CFP offers preferential booking to its customers for two ARLA seminars

CFP Software

CFP Software is pleased to be sponsoring two ARLA seminars on 23rd September at the Novotel London West (Hammersmith), which are aimed at letting agents who need further clarification with the changes affecting ASTs, as well as a chance to update their knowledge on Section 21s.

To ensure that its software users are fully prepared for every aspect of the lettings and property management industry, CFP Software is offering preferential booking to its clients so they are able to request their places ahead of their competitors, as well as taking advantage of the ten percent discount if they book both seminars.

AST Seminar (10am – 12pm)

The increase in the maximum rent threshold that will come into force on 1st October is causing a lot of concern. An industry expert will explain the exceptions to the Housing Act 1988, clarify how the changes will come into force and give practical advice on dealing with the changeover.

This two-hour seminar is suitable for all letting agents, who find themselves dealing with tenancies that will become ATSs after 1st October, but will be particularly useful for branch managers who have to design company procedures. The session will cover topics, such as:

  • Excepions to the Housing Act 1988
  • The high rent exception
  • The forthcoming changes
  • Section 8 and 21 notices around 1st October
  • What about deposits?

Section 21 Seminar (1.30pm – 3.30pm)

Serving a section 21 notice is one of the most important things a letting agent will do as it is a vital first step in the landlord recovering possession of their property.

This two-hour seminar is suitable for any agent involved in serving section 21 notices and acts as a refresher course so they can make sure their knowledge is up to date with all the relevant cases. Topics will include:

  • Security of tenure under the Housing Act 1988
  • Section 21 in ASTs
  • Types of section 21 notice
  • Cases and interpretation of section 21

The cost of each seminar is £50 (plus VAT) for ARLA members and £75 (plus VAT) for non-members, but delegates will receive a ten percent discount if they book both the seminars together.
